Terms of Use

BeConnect is a mobile application that allows people to connect in the real world and discover the potential in their environment. These Terms of Use govern the use of BeConnect, which is provided by Manasse Heidl Einzelunternehmen - BeConnect.

The use of BeConnect is free of charge. BeConnect is currently 100% self-financed and no advertisements are placed by companies and organizations. Your personal data itself is not evaluated, but used exclusively in a depersonalized form for statistics. This means that your data will only be viewed by you and other users who you have authorized to access this data.

You can see how your personal data is collected and used in our data policy. You can find and view these at any time via the settings.

We also reserve the right to restrict or refuse to process content on BeConnect, restrict the distribution or visibility of content on the service, block or terminate users at our discretion if they violate our terms of use or terms and conditions. These are actions that must be taken to protect all users, which is why we cannot be held liable to users who have been blocked or terminated.

By accepting the Terms of Use, you agree to use BeConnect as a normal app and not to create a competing product with the same functions and/or objectives until BeConnect has been officially published in the Google PlayStore and the Apple App Store. If you decide not to do so, you will be liable to BeConnect.

Any feedback that leads to the improvement of BeConnect or to new features is accepted free of charge and is provided on a voluntary basis. There is therefore no entitlement to remuneration, either in the form of real money or credits in any form, through feedback, unless it is expressly advertised and actively solicited by BeConnect employees.

Disclaimer

BeConnect is currently in a test phase and is therefore not yet fully usable. During this test phase, data is collected in order to analyze and improve user behavior in this market environment. It is always our goal to make it as easy as possible to bring people together and to connect them with the potential that lies in their direct environment. The user's data is therefore neither sold nor passed on to third parties in any form.

As BeConnect is only being tested on the market, the service is only available until the end of the aforementioned test phase and only to a limited extent. This means that the environment in which it is being tested is limited to Mainz University and its surroundings. It is also possible to use the service outside this environment, but hardly any or no other users are displayed there.

After the end of the test phase, all data collected is stored for up to 3 months and used for statistical purposes. All data records are then depersonalized.

Usage Guidelines

BeConnect provides a basis for discovering any potential in the immediate vicinity, be it a café that has not yet been discovered or new friends, and getting in touch with them. In addition, all users should be able to realize their potential both in public and online. This also includes being able to talk freely about all topics. To ensure that these goals can actually be achieved and that all users feel safe, it is important that a few rules are established in advance.

• Mutual respect: All users should be respected at all times. This is not only limited to the person, but also to any content posted by that person.
• Acceptance: Every person should be accepted as they are.
• Consent: No one should feel forced to do something they don't feel comfortable with. This also includes conversations about certain topics.
• Protection of all persons: This also includes data protection. However, you must not only feel safe virtually, but also in reality.
• Communication: All content, whether in text or graphic form, should be appropriate and in keeping with common decency. Content of a sexual or violent nature will not be tolerated.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes what information is collected and processed by BeConnect.

BeConnect does not work without the users. Therefore, information is collected to help people connect with each other. This information is also used for statistical purposes to analyze BeConnect's raison d'être and place in the market.

Data shared by you: With all the content of your account that you actively add, you contribute to enriching BeConnect. This data is collected and used by us to better place you in your environment. This data is automatically processed by us to analyze the willingness to disclose personal data, as well as the gradation at all relationship levels.

Connection: We record every interaction with other users, from viewing other profiles to the connection at the lowest level, as well as regular contact. This data is used to analyze contact based on various criteria, such as time, location and distance between users.

Use of the app: We collect information about the use of the app itself, such as how often a feature is used, whether there are certain times when users switch on or whether there are geographical hotspots where the app is used particularly frequently. This also includes information on bugs and possible crashes of the app. This data is used to analyze the use of the app so that individual features and ultimately the overall user experience can be improved.

Device information: We collect device information, such as the platform on which BeConnect was installed, the OS version and other technical information that shows how the technical test environment is structured. This information is used to analyze user distribution and identify the market.

Liability for Content

The content of our website has been created with the greatest care. However, we cannot assume any liability for the correctness, completeness and topicality of the content. As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages in accordance with § 7 para.1 TMG and general laws.

According to §§ 8 to 10 TMG, however, we as a service provider are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate illegal activity. Data Protection

The use of our website/app is generally possible without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
